Bishop Šaško baptised the fifth child of the Filić family

On the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord on Sunday, January 11 in the church of Blessed Virgin Mary Queen of Peace, msgr. Ivan Šaško, auxiliary bishop of Zagreb celebrated the Holy Mass and baptised Leopold, the fifth child of the Filić family.

During the homily, bishop Šaško emphasized Jesus's humility on the day of his baptism and said that with every baptism we are remembering the day of our own baptism. He congratulated to Leopold's parents on their example of selflessness and called for prayer so the child can grow in the purity of heart.

„The first step of Jesus's mission is baptism on Jordan river, which is full of humility. That was not not created by Jesus but his Father, and Jesus is coming down to Jordan to reveal the great Father's love“, said msgr. Šaško.

He concluded that a little child is always an experience of the new beginning for the parents and that being a christian parent is also a great challenge.

During the Holy Mass, bishop Šaško invoked the intercession of st. Leopold Bogdan Mandić, saying that baptised Leopold is called to be just like st. Leopold – humble and brave.
