Cardinal Bozanić presided over the Eucharist celebration in Zagreb cathedral

On Easter morning Archbishop of Zagreb His Eminence Josip Cardinal Bozanić presided over the Eucharist celebration in Zagreb cathedral. The holy mass of Easter day was concelebrated by the apostolic nuntio in the Republic of Croatia msgr. Alessandro D'Errico, chancellor of the Archdiocese of Zagreb msgr. Stjepan Večković, moderator msgr. Nedjeljko Pintarić and several other priests.

„Jesus fulfilled his promise: after the passion and death, the third day he rose from the dead and appeared to his disciples in the glorious body of his. And we today, gathered in this cathedral, and united with millions of Christians around the world, celebrate the fulfillment of that most important promise in the history of mankind, we celebrate because we are redeemed”, said His Eminence at the beginning of his homily.

In the world full of disappointment and mistrust in which promises are easily broken, people need someone who has never disappointed and on whom one can always rely on, and that is God, said the Archbishop of Zagreb.

"In the history of mankind and the world has not been and will never be more glorious victory than the one the Christ himself won", said Cardinal Bozanić emphasizing that with the resurrection of Jesus began a new era in the history of mankind.

His Eminence encouraged the faithful to rely on God in life's trials, he told them they should not be tempted to deny their Christian values that can help people and enrich our homeland. He also mentioned the example of blessed Alojzije Stepinac saying that his life sums up the entire Easter theorem.
